Historic St. Michaels: People, Places, and Events

Settled during the Colonial era, St. Michaels was one of the most important shipbuilding centers in America during the eighteenth and early nineteenth century, a site of two significant battles during the War of 1812, and a major seafood processing hub during the latter part of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This tour chronicles St. Michaels’ rich history and informs you of the lives of typical residents of the area, including Frederick Douglass.

Available the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. (May through October)
